100th Post and the Luck o' the Irish Cowl!

Well hello everyone! I know I've been a bit silent here for a few weeks but I have to admit, when I saw that this post was to be my 100th, I sort of had a bit of performance anxiety! 100 posts! That seems so huge to me!  Who knew that when I started this little blog several years ago I would have made it this far?  I sure didn't!  I was pretty sure I would have abandoned ship by now since every other attempt in my life to keep a regular journal of any kind has been an epic failure. In any case, I wanted to say thank you to those of you who read my ramblings in this space.  I am truly honored that you would spend your precious time here. So I have two exciting pieces of news for you today.  One is that in about 2 weeks, I will be moving this humble little blog on over to my brand spanking new website!  Not only will I continue to blog about knitting and cooking and chickens and all of that jazz, but I will have space there to catalog my favorite recipes, sewing tips and tutorials, knitting patterns, and all kinds of other fun things.  You know me, I always have projects going and I love to share them with you.  (Anyone remember this post?  I promised a skirt tutorial but did I ever make one?  No.  In my new space, I hope to be able to share this and all kinds of things like it with you.  Let's just say I'm finally ready to make it happen!)  I hope you will join me over there when the time comes and continue to follow my homesteading and designing adventures.  Of course I'll let you know as soon as the site goes live!

The other fun piece of news is that in honor of my 100th post, I've written a new knitting pattern to share with you all!  With St. Patricks day coming up on Saturday I've been feeling in the mood for green, so I bought a skein of the new Noro Karuta yarn and had a little fun with chevrons!  I really hope you like the pattern.  You can purchase it on Ravelry here.

I am calling it the "Luck o' the Irish Cowl" in honor of my Irish heritage (my other half is German) and my mother's birthday which also happens to be on St. Patricks Day.  She is turning 60 this year and I wish her all the luck and happiness in the world.  I'll be seeing her on her birthday but I wanted to give her a little blog love too.  Happy birthday Mom!

I've got about 5 or 6 new patterns in the works that I should have ready by the time the site goes live.  Some will be free and some will be for purchase.  Of course I'll let you know as soon as they are ready!

In the meantime, I hope you all have a happy St. Patricks Day, and I will be back here soon with some project updates and of course plenty of knitting!
