I have so much to share with you all! So much has developed in the last month or so that this blog will be bursting with new projects very soon! My long absence can be explained only in that Nick and I have been moving, and therefore crazy busy! I know, excuses, excuses... Anyway, I just wanted to share a quick project that I knit up last month...Annabella's Cowl. It's a beautiful and simple design from Churchmouse Designs. It's absolutely lovely to wear. Now, the original version includes instructions for a much longer cowl than what I actually knit. I shortened mine quite a bit, and i'm very happy with the result. I used one skein of Madelinetosh Merino DK and one skein of Rowan Kidsilk Haze. Yep, i'm in love. I've been wearing this thing far too much. I think i'm actually going to need to make another just so i'll have something that will go with every outfit. Blue or green perhaps?
Although I have much more to share, I am going to cut this short and talk about an amazing scholarship opportunity that Jimmy Beans Wool (the awesome place I get to go to work at everyday) is offering. JWB has partnered with some folks in the knitting industry including Lorna's Laces, Interweave Press, The Yarn Group, and Classic Elite Yarns (just to name a few-view the whole list on the scholarship info page) to offer this college scholarship opportunity to 6 knitters worldwide. Each winner will be awarded $3,000 to help with their undergraduate, graduate, or PhD studies. Knitters and Crocheters alike are all encouraged to apply. One of these scholarships is guaranteed to go to a student in the Reno/Tahoe area. One scholarship is reserved for international students, and the other 4 will be allotted by US regions. For a list of full guidelines, check out the scholarship page at the Jimmy Beans Wool website. If you or any knitters or crocheters you know are looking for new scholarship opportunities, this might be an awesome way to help fund those efforts! I love that I work for a company that is spearheading this amazing program!
Well, thats all for me today folks! I'll be back later this week with more new projects!
Hope you all have an awesome day!
