Deodorant goodness and quick knitting...

So, I know I promised to post on this last week, but I wanted to make sure the deodorant was good (and actually worked) before I recommended it. Good news-- it's great! I am still thinking of ways to tweak the recipe a bit to make it more solid and therefore easier to melt into an old tube of deodorant for ease of use... Anyway, i'm happy with it so far and you can find the recipe over at Angry Chicken--here. The only difference in mine is that I used a bit of Patchoulli EO and Sweet Orange EO (Essential Oils, and yes I know i'm a total hippie) and I used some Shea Butter and Cocoa Butter Lotion I made last year that I sort of made too much of for the base. I'm not sure if the proportions were exactly the same as the Chicken's because I also used Jojoba Oil in the lotion so that probably made a difference. It set up ok and the only other ingredients needed were Baking Soda and Corn Starch...probably 2 things you already have on hand. The best part? It goes on clear... i've worn it while wearing a black tank top--the ultimate test, and it's totally clear...nice!

In the future, I am probably going to up the Baking Soda and Corn Starch a bit to make it more solid and then melt it right into an old deodorant container...i'll let you know how it goes.

In the knitting realm, I have been working on a few things but last week, primarily it was a Pebble baby vest for my friends Jonathan and Kim's first little one (Jackson) who is due next month! It's seriously baby season right now, I feel like I know so many people who are prego, trying to get prego, or have just had babies! Yikes! Anyway, this cute little vest was a fun quick knit and was easy to get done in a couple of days. I put the purple Hippo buttons on there for Jonathan's sake...he loves purple.

Cute, eh?

Now I am just knitting like a demon on something blue for me to wear at the wedding. It is something I have in mind but can't find a pattern for so I am just creating as I go...and hoping it turns out ok! Wish me luck!
